Nudge does not collect anything. There is no account, and your audio and reports never leave your phone.
Last updated 18 October 2026.Nudge records audio through your device's microphone while a night is running, and analyses it on the device to work out when snoring occurred. Recordings, the reports made from them, and everything else the app produces are stored only in the app's own storage on your iPhone.
Recordings are kept whole for a short period, then trimmed to only the stretches containing snoring, then deleted entirely after a few nights unless you choose to keep a specific night. You can delete all recordings at any time from Settings.
Audio, reports, sleep data, check-in answers and settings are never sent anywhere. The developer cannot access them and neither can anyone else. The only thing that leaves your phone is the small partner signal described below, and only if you pair with someone.
Nudge contains no advertising and no tracking across apps. To see how the app is used, it sends a few anonymous counts to PostHog: for example that onboarding was finished, a night was started, or an invite was sent. These are tied to a random identifier for your installation, not to you, and never include audio, snoring details, health data or names. You can turn this off in Settings, under Help and privacy.
This website counts visits and clicks on the App Store button with PostHog, without cookies and without identifying you.
If you choose "Help improve Nudge", it also sends anonymous numbers about each night: how long each snoring stretch lasted, how sure the detector was, when in the night it happened, whether a nudge went out and whether it stopped the snoring, how loud the room was, how long the night was, and your morning answers (how rested you felt and what was different, such as mouth tape or a drink). It never sends audio, names, location or health data. It is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time.
If you grant access, Nudge reads sleep analysis, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, resting heart rate and breathing disturbance data from Apple Health so it can display them alongside your snoring. This data is read on the device and is never transmitted.
Nudge never writes to Apple Health. You may revoke access at any time in the Health app, and Nudge will continue to work without it.
If you use the Apple Watch app, it communicates with your iPhone over Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. The messages carry only a haptic strength and a battery percentage. No audio is ever sent to the watch.
You can pair your phone with one other person's, so Hush on their phone can respond to your snoring. When you are connected, your phone sends theirs short signals: whether snoring is happening, how loud, and that a night has started. Recordings and audio are never sent.
These signals pass through a small relay server we run on Cloudflare, only so the two phones can reach each other. It keeps no copy of the signals and does not log them. To send the notice "your partner turned on Hush", the relay stores each paired phone's Apple push notification token, which identifies a device to Apple's notification service and nothing else. Unpairing removes the link, and either person can unpair at any time.
Subscriptions, when available, are handled entirely by Apple. Nudge never sees your payment details.
Nudge is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. Since it collects nothing from anyone, there is nothing held about any user of any age.
Deleting the app removes every recording, report and setting from your device. There is no copy held anywhere else, so there is nothing to request, export or ask to have erased.
Nudge records what happens during the night. It does not diagnose any condition. Loud snoring with gasping, choking or pauses in breathing can indicate sleep apnea, which only a clinician can assess.
